Different Types of Heaters

Furnace

The most budget-friendly furnaces are single-stage and offer mild efficiency. The next step up would be a two-stage furnace. These units provide variable speed operation that improves energy efficiency and more consistent temperature control.

Radiant Heat / Boilers

Rather than air, these systems use water to store heat. Being that water holds heat better than air, these systems are still popular today. The downside is that they are more expensive than other variants to install due to the many lengths of piping that have to be routed throughout the home. Boilers and radiant heat systems can use hot water or steam to provide heat.
